The Lindy Hop is an exciting, energetic dance that has its origins in the African American community in Harlem in New York City, and dates back to the 1930's. This dance is all about joy, expression, and having fun with your partner! In the decades since then, Lindy Hop has continued to grow, evolve and inspire dancers all over the world! In this six week session you will build off the basics you learned in Swing 1, and start diving into some more of the quintessential moves that make up this dance. You will also learn some simple variations that you can use to spice up your basics.

No partner is required for this class.

Instructors: Helena Forbes and Gavin Wolf are from Side Street Swing, Ottawa's Swing Dance professionals. They specialize in all forms of vintage swing dancing, including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, and many others. The driving force behind the school building the community - to share their passion and love of this dance with anyone interested in listening and learning!

FIGURE Drawing

Come join this weekly gathering and practice your figure drawing or painting skills while learning and sharing with your fellow artists. A model is organized each week for the group.  The model poses in the natural form in an extended pose. On occasion a draped model may be brought in, but this is only with agreement of the group. Participants work in the medium of their choice and provide their own materials. Easels are available on a first come, first served basis.  There is no instructor in this workshop, learning is in the doing and the sharing among participants.  Beginners as well as experienced artists are most welcome.
