The City of Ottawa has provided an update on the construction of the Flora Footbridge, which is scheduled to be completed in fall of this year.
The project was put on hold during the winter months but work has now resumed. Work is ongoing on the east walls, the lookout has been backfilled, materials for the asphalt ramp have been placed, and the footings for the railings on the west ramp have been poured. Over the next few weeks work will continue with the pouring of concrete for the east railing footings and the west ramp, the start of construction on the new west multi-use pathway, and additional work offsite.
The City has also announced the winners of last year's public art contest. Claude Latour's Mōnz (Moose) will sit on the west side of the canal, while Sally Lee Sheek's Alone will sit on the east side.
You can read all the latest information on the City's page for the project, here.
