The Community Activities Group of Ottawa East (CAG) third annual Fall Festival was a resounding success, and we were lucky to have largely cooperative weather, great guests and volunteers and a fantastic turnout.
The Pumpkin Sale took place in front of Brantwood fieldhouse and almost all 100 big, bright and locally grown pumpkins were sold – including 25 hand-delivered to nearby homes. We are extremely grateful to the sale’s success as proceeds continue to support Old Ottawa East programs and events.
In addition to the 100 regular sized pumpkins, an additional 150 mini pumpkins were painted and over 80 apples were bobbed for by keen children and families in attendance. Plenty of family fun was had jumping around on the bouncy castle and slide, attending a musical performance by Derek McKinley and Sing Song Party Time, and learning to juggle courtesy of our strolling entertainer. Many faces were painted thanks to our tireless volunteers!
Fueling the activities were local food trucks Angry Dragons and La Catrina Churros Dessert Bar as well as a volunteer operated BBQ – many thanks to all for feeding the crowds.
Thank you to everyone who supported the sale with their purchases and donation and to our many volunteers for making the event a success: Lisa Dunnett, Dan Byrne, Todd Dunnett, Kaeli Van Regan, Jim Lamont, Camrose Burdon, Gloria Fox, Nicole Varshney, Carol Anne Owen, Selena Fraser, Catherine Hooker, Cynthia Mayville, Barbara Hicks, Lynne Byford, Olivia Byford-Harvey, Marie-Eve Noel, Jessica Ross, David Barclay, Suzanne Gagnon, Dave Macki, Ramine Shaw and Jim Fraser.
