Brantwood Park: The Hidden Countryside in Old Ottawa East

Brantwood Park is beautiful niche of countryside in Ottawa, and provides us with the opportunity to get in touch with nature, ourselves, and our families.

One of the best parts of Brantwood is seeing young parents with their young children. The kids always seem happy. They are like puppies wanting to stretch their legs, and they expand their minds with the wide open spaces, water, playgrounds, and neighbours. Young parents who attentively watch their kids play, care for and play with them, look to create their kids growing experiences. It’s hard to know what’s best, but Brantwood offers so many options it’s hard to fail at finding something that will help with positive development one way or another!

For example, cooling down at the pool on a hot day is so much better then an air conditioner. Kids are there and some parents (the lucky ones) actually go in to play a little with the kids. Neighbours have donated trucks for the sand boxes, and the kids can run around on structures. There’s lots of room for meeting new friends, taking time to dig a hole, or create something from only sand!

For those who are fortunate enough to have a boat, drifting off across the water is an experience not forgotten by young and old alike but here you don’t have to drive for miles to experience a classic Canadian body of water. The very natural Rideau is for you to share and experience!

One of the best ways to enjoy Brantwood is to spend time on the Rideau River! We are so lucky to have this natural resource with turtles, ducks, swans, and frogs right here. The river provides a space for adults and children to get comfortable boating and being in and around water. Make sure to bring a camera to capture the beautiful moments!

If you'rer close by, don’t miss the countryside like community treasure that is Brantwood. Come down and create your own experience. For young and old alike, memories are made here!
