VOLUNTEER Jobs at the Main Event
We will need people to fill the following roles for the Main Event in June:
Two to three weeks prior to event: Put up provided posters around Old Ottawa East and on Elgin and Bank St
Requirement: approx 4 people, will need a staple gun and tape
Promotional Signage around OOE
Ensure sandwich boards and signs are out at predetermined spots the week before the event and collected soon after. We will deliver signs to your home.
Requirement: 1 person. Will need a car.
To take a pictures of the event on the day and forward to CAG the week after the event for Facebook and the Mainstreeter report.
Requirement: 1 person
We need someone with a drivers licence willing to rent a truck for Friday afternoon (June 14) and return it on Saturday after the event (June 15).
A small team is required to assist the driver with the pick up and transportation of items from various locations in Old Ottawa East on Friday evening and return items around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Requirement: 1 driver, 6 assistants, heavy lifting required
8:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Volunteers are needed on Main Street to set up the event.
Requirements: 3 people, heavy lifting will be required.
2:00 - 3:30 p.m. - Volunteers are needed for take down of the event
Requirements: 6 people, heavy lifting will be required.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the Community Association BBQ.
10:00 - 11:00 a.m., set up and early cooking
11:00 - noon, flipping hamburgers and serving (6 people)
Noon - 1:00 p.m., flipping and serving (6 people)
1:00 - 2:00 p.m., flipping and serving (6 people)
2:00 p.m., take down and clean up (6 people)
Volunteers are needed to bring recycling boxes to the event at 10:00 a.m. and take them home (full!) at 2:00 p.m. Need about 6 recycle boxes – both blue and black boxes please.
Requirements: 3 people
The event is so much more pleasurable if the site is kept clean and tidy! This is easy to do while at the party anyway!
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. - empty garbage cans if they fill up and to pick up garbage around the event as required.
12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. - empty garbage cans if they fill up and to pick up garbage around the event as required.

8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Volunteers are needed to inflate helium balloons and put them up around the event site. We have 10 – 12 stakes to put up decorative clusters of balloons.

Road Closure Supervision
Two volunteers will be needed at all times at each of the event road barriers, ready to remove to barriers should emergency services need access.
10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
11:00 am – noon
Noon – 1:00p.m.
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Requirements: 16 people
We need someone to order and pick up a cake and deliver to the CAG booth during the event! You will of course be reimbursed.
Requirements: 1 person
Prepare thermoses of coffee for volunteers and deliver to CAG booth for 8:30am for serving to volunteers. Materials provided
Requirements: 1 person
Bake and drop off 1 dozen nut free muffins for volunteers at 8:30 am.
Requirements: 3 people to donate 1 dozen muffins each
