VOLUNTEERS at the heart of CAG events

Winter party 2015 volunteersVolunteers are crucial to the success of Community Activities Group of Old Ottawa East (CAG) Events! Wonderful events such as the Winter Party in the Park, Valentine Skate, The Main Event, are all volunteer run. Without volunteers these events cannot happen.

CAG needs YOU!

Please consider volunteering to help continue this wonderful tradition of events or to shape new ones.

Two or three hours a year is all we need

Seriously – that’s all that we need. Two or three hours of your time at one event once per year. Enough people step up to do that and we are in fabulous shape. But we do need YOU!

YOUTH Volunteers:

CAG invites applications from youth volunteers for seasonal events and weekly summer BBQs as well as our park, camp and after school programs. We welcome the opportunity to support our community youth in gaining “job” experience in this way – a great addition to a resume. Can be applied to high school community service hours. Suitable for mature youth in Grade 9 and up.
Youth should be advised that we generally suggest that youth gain some experience in other volunteer roles with CAG before volunteering in camps, after school or other CAG programs.

CAG Awarded Canada 150 Pin as a Youth Employer

CAG was proud to be presented with an Ottawa Centre Canada 150 Pin in the category of Youth Employer. Awards were presented by Catherine McKenna, MP for Ottawa Centre.

Honoured to accept the award on behalf of the Community Activities Group of Ottawa East (CAG) were Carol Workun, CAG Executive Director and Lorena Pagani, Old Town Hall After School Supervisor.
