Frequently Asked Questions – Brantwood Park field house revitalization project
Who owns the revitalized building?
As is the case with the majority of facilities located on municipal properties in Ottawa, the City of Ottawa owns the building in Brantwood Park. They continue to own the building and will take responsibility for ongoing maintenance, cleaning and snow clearance etc. The community has use of the space for programming and events through the Community Activities Group(CAG).
Can I hold my child's birthday party there?
Yes! CAG is offering birthday party packages there. The field house has the obvious advantage of the nearby play structures, the rink and pool in season and lots of space outside to run and play.
Will the bathrooms be open more often?
The bathrooms will be open when the building is in use. More programming will mean the bathrooms will be open more often. CAG posts the times of regular programming on thhe noticeboard outside the field house.
Sports clubs and other groups running programming and events in the park may apply to the City of Ottawa for access to the bathrooms with their park permit.
Can I hold a meeting there?
The facility will be available for CAG meetings, programs and events. Other groups will also be able to book the facility through the City of Ottawa. CAG intends to work with other community groups, within the parameters set by their agreement with the city, to accommodate their use of the facility for meetings and events.
