Brantwood Field House Revitalization Project

The Brantwood Park Field House has been open for ONE YEAR!!

The Brantwood Park field house is located in Brantwood Park, the anchor of recreational activities in Old Ottawa East. In the summer, the park attracts residents due to its picturesque setting along the Rideau River and its wide range of recreational facilities such as the tennis courts, a football field, baseball diamonds, a wading pool, a basketball court and the playground equipment. During the winter months, the park is home to one of the most popular ice skating rinks in the city.

The revitalized field house!

The revitalized building includes a PROGRAM SPACE that is used for CAG programming such as playgroups, camps, birthday parties, bridge, games afternoons and more ... New flooring, new storage cupboards, new counter tops, dishwasher, fridge, and fresh paint make for a cozy, inviting space.
A new SKATE CHANGE AREA is located towards the front of the building with benches, a new window, fresh paint and a new office for the rink attendants.
WASHROOMS are upgraded with refinished flooring, new paint, change tables, soap dispensers and hand driers and mirrors. Washrooms are open to park users when programming is in operation or the rink or pool is open. The building is wheelchair and stroller accessible with automatic doors to the building and to the bathrooms and an asphalt path to the front entrance. Additional lighting to the outside of the building has improved park safety at night. The building is alarmed and a bike rack will be located outside in the spring.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this project a success.
