CAG Recreational Child Care Programs (JK - Grade 6)

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

CAG After-School Programs normally begin on the Tuesday following Labour Day in September, and run thereafter every day that your child has school.

Click here to secure your child's space with a non-refundable (last month) deposit. In the event the program is full, we invite you to add your name to our waiting list by sending an email to admin@OttawaEastCAG.ca. See CAG After-School Program Handbook and policies for more information.

The 2020-21 After-School Program will follow COVID-19 pandemic physical distancing requirements and reopening dates. Monthly program fees will be prorated and credited as needed according to reopening schedules, formats and requirements. More information on COVID-19 program suspension here.

If our after-school programs as currently offered do not meet the needs of your family (for instance, you do not attend one of the currently identified schools), please contact Carol Toone, Executive Director, at carolt@OttawaEastCAG.ca to discuss possibilities.

Child Care Program Resources and Policies

After-School Program Handbook

The CAG After-School Program Hanbook contains important information about our after-school programs in one place for ease of access, including goals, schedules, policies and forms. It also provides general information, including policies and forms, for parents and guardians with children registered in other CAG child care programs.

Registration

Your child's space is reserved with a non-refundable deposit of one month's fee. This deposit represents your June 2021 payment, if your child is still in the program at that time.

Life Threatening Allergies and Medication

If your child has a life threatening allergy or requires medication during CAG child care program hours, please complete the applicable policy and form and provide to CAG on your child's first day in/day of the program, or as the situation may arise.

CAG Anaphylactic Policy and Life Threatening Allergy Alert Form and CAG Medication Policy and Medical Administration Form

Monthly Payment

The monthly fee is $210 per month per child, payable by: posted-dated cheque, dated for the first day of September through to May; or by monthly e-transfer payment.

Refunds

o Withdrawal from the program at any time - before or after the start of the program will result in loss of deposit.
o Withdrawal from the program after the start of the program requires one  (1) calendar month’s notice. If less than one (1) calendar month’s notice is provided, parents/guardians will be required to pay one month’s fee in lieu of notice.
o Partial refunds are not issued for temporary absence from the program for any reason.

Goals and Growth

CAG is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive after-school program that strengthens and builds each child’s self-esteem and provides a creative program that will capture your child’s attention and keep them positively engaged. General after-school program rules are determined each September in partnership with the children. The overriding principles are safety, cooperation and respect.

Our goal is always to manage behaviour in a positive, constructive manner. Our approach to behaviour management is prevention, in partnership with parents/guardians. Staff are trained to keep an eye out for any developing issue and to distract and redirect before a situation develops. As part of this goal, we endeavour to present activities each day that keep the children productively engaged, and we welcome parent or guardian input to support inclusiveness of activities and consideration of preferences and abilities.

Please also see our Behaviour Management Policy and Suspension or Termination of Enrollment Policy.
