Come indulge your soul and set yourself up with some good healthy habits as you go into the new year!

(Re-) TREAT Yourself!

(10:00 - 11:30 a.m.) Ring in the new year by wringing out the old with a detoxifying yoga class with CAG yoga instructor Peter Kusovac. This class will stimulate circulation and digestion through breath work and twists. Burn off some of that holiday excess!

(11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.) Following the yoga class, kick-start your new year nutrition goals with a hand's on cooking lesson guided by plant-based chef and nutritionist, Amy Longard.  Working with others you'll create a healthy, wholesome plant-based meal that you'll be able to recreate at home.  Amy will tell you how to incorporate anti-inflammatory foods into your diet and explain which foods support your body's natural ability to detoxify.  You'll enjoy the delicious meal along with fellow yogis and engage in an interactive discussion about goal setting for the year ahead.  The meal will be gluten free and vegan. Please inform CAG of any allergies no later than one week prior to the lesson. 

(1:30 - 2:30 p.m.) After a satisfying and healthy lunch Fatima Saeta (Registered Massage Therapist from Ottawa Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic on Main Street) will lead you through an hour on techniques of stretching and self-massage that will set you up with some excellent self-care practices for the new year.  Work on your shoulders, back, neck, hips and legs and learn how massage and stretching can also boost your immune system.

(2:30 - 3:30 p.m.) Finish up with a relaxing and restorative Yin yoga practice with CAG instructor Rebekka Cook. We promise you will leave feeling relaxed and with a strong sense of well being.

Participants should come comfortably dressed for yoga, perhaps with a warm sweater and/or blanket, and prepare to feel nurtured!
